Dr. Ambedkar Stadium will be renovated, will meet international standards

  • According to DSA President Anuj Gupta, as per the order issued by MCD on March 15, 2024, Dr. Ambedkar Stadium will be equipped with all the facilities of international level, which will include changing rooms, dressing rooms, toilets, cafeteria, canteen, media center etc. with modern facilities
  • Anuj said that after upholding the post of President of DSA, his priority was to renovate Dr. Ambedkar Stadium and with the efforts of MCD Commissioner Gyanesh Bharati, the dream of football lovers of Delhi is going to come true
  • Many age group events are being organized by DSA, League matches are being organized in five divisions and Besides, women players are also getting equal opportunities

Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Stadium, which is called the heart of Delhi’s football, is going to be renovated. Earlier known as Corporation Stadium, This stadium is now being completely prepared to meet the international standards. The Delhi government has finally taken the historic step of rejuvenating this stadium adjacent to the Ferozeshah Kotla Cricket Ground.

   According to Anuj Gupta, President of Delhi Soccer Association (DSA), as per the order issued by MCD on March 15, 2024, Dr. Ambedkar Stadium will be equipped with all the modern facilities of international standard, which include changing rooms, dressing rooms, toilets, cafeteria, canteen, Media centre etc. will be given a modern look.

Anuj said that after upholding the post of President of DSA, his priority was to renovate Dr. Ambedkar Stadium and with the efforts of MCD Commissioner  Gyanesh Bharti , the dream of football lovers of Delhi and the country is going to come true. It is expected that after the stadium is transformed and equipped with all the facilities, the country’s capital will once again become the ‘hub’ of football.

    As you know that Dr. Ambedkar Stadium has been famous for Subroto Cup like various age group competitions and Delhi Football League, Durand Cup, DCM, Nehru Cup and many international events. With the renovation of the stadium, on one hand football activities in Delhi will increase, on the other hand events like ISL and I-League will be attracted towards it.

 

Many age group events are being organized by DSA. League matches are being organized in five divisions. Besides, women players are also getting equal opportunities. Giving a new look to Dr. Ambedkar Stadium will not only increase the stature of DSA but will also revive the football affairs in the capital. Delhi’s football fans have been expecting a change for years, which will be completed in the next six months. With this, football lovers will start returning to Dr. Ambedkar Stadium again.
