FEI World Jumping Challenge 2020 for the South Zone to be held at Embassy International Riding School, Bengaluru

Event to be held on 27th Nov’20, 29th Nov’20 & 6th Dec’20 following all COVID protocols

Elite equestrian clubs like United Riders Barn, Bengaluru; Chennai Equitation Center, Flying Sea Stallion, and Doblin Equitation Center, Bengaluru to participate in the event

Bengaluru, 26th November 2020: Embassy International Riding School today announced the launch of FEI World Jumping Challenge 2020, under the aegis of the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) and the Federation Equestrian International (FEI).

The tournament will be organized as a part of the South Zonal round, and will span over three days – 27th Nov’20, 29th Nov’20 & 6th Dec 2020 at Embassy International Riding School, Bangalore. Elite equestrian clubs like United Riders Barn, Bengaluru; Chennai Equitation Center, Flying Sea Stallion and Doblin Equitation Center, Bengaluru will participate in the event.

Bearing in mind the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, all necessary precautions will be taken to ensure everyone’s safety. All on-ground staff will be mandated to undertake a COVID test, with participants having to submit a negative COVID test report. Each participant will be allowed to be accompanied by two members only, and wearing masks and maintaining social distancing of minimum 6 feet will be applicable throughout the event.

The FEI World Jumping Challenge (FEI WJC) is divided into ten geographical zones and India falls into Zone 9 along with Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan and Philippines. Organised for children over 14 years of age, and adults, it is divided into three Categories of levels of Jumping, and is spread over 3 competitions of 2 rounds each. The categories include:

  • Category A (1.20-1.30 m)
  • Category B (1.10-1.20m)
  • Category C (1.00-1.10m)

All riders compete over the same courses using the same arena size (65 x 45 m) .The FEI World Jumping Challenge offers an Individual classification per Country, per geographical Zone, and per Category. It also offers Team classification per geographical Zone.
