Future champions will emerge from the Future Star Youth League: Satyarthi

In the opinion of 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner Shri Kailash Satyarthi, “Delhi Future Star Youth League Football” will be a milestone for the football of the capital Delhi, and India. At the Opening Ceremony of the Future League at Chhatrasal Stadium here on Monday, he appreciated the love of football of the Education and Sports Department of Delhi Government. He also appreciated the efforts being made by Delhi Soccer Association (DSA). In his address, he said that the Delhi government, in collaboration with the state football unit, is trying to popularize the world’s most popular game, which is sure to yield good results. It is from here that Delhi and the country will get future champion players.

   The event began with the arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, who was greeted with a Guard of Honour by NCC Boys and a Band, the ceremonial Deep Prajwalan marked the commencement of the proceedings at the Chhatrasal stadium. The Opening Ceremony unfolded flawlessly, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and showcasing the budding talents of young footballers.

    A captivating Thaiyyam Dance from Kerala, presented by students of M.A.P.S Ashok Vihar, enthralled the audience. The energy continued with an Action Dance by students of Navjeewan Model School Vishnu Garden.

 

   Apart from hundreds of budding players and officials, Delhi Government’s Director of Education and Sports, Deputy Director Yogesh Pal Singh, senior lawyer Ramesh Gupta, DSA President Anuj Gupta, and his team DSA officials were also present on the inaugural occasion.

   Anuj Gupta described the presence of Mr. Satyarthi as encouraging for the Future League and said that his presence has given new energy to the players. The inaugural match was played between Sudeva FC and Juba Sangha in which Sudeva won 2-1. Before the match, players of both teams were introduced to Mr. Satyarthi.

 

   It is noteworthy that Delhi is emerging as a big force in national football, which has recently achieved tremendous success in the younger age group events. Delhi has also won the Santosh Trophy, the national football cluster tournament.

    Regarding future events, Anuj Gupta said that after the Women’s Premier League, the Men’s Premier League will also start. But special attention will be given to school and college players.
